Brief Introduction

Vyas, popularly known as Damauli[citation needed], is a Municipality and the district headquarter of Tanahun District in Province No. 4 of Nepal is a municipality in Kapilvastu District in Province No. 5 of Nepal is a municipality and headquarters of Tanahun District in the Gandaki Zone of central Nepal. The municipality was established by merging the former Village development committee Damauli (previoulsy district headquarter of Tanahun) with several of its neighbors,[when?] the most recent merger being the one with Pokhari Bhanjyang in 2014. It lies on the bank of Madi Khola. At the time of the 2011 Nepal census it had a population of 70,335 people living in 18,339 individual households.[2] It is said that Sage Vyasadeva was bord in Damauli.[3]
