Brief Introduction

Vyas Municipality, located at the sacred confluence of the Seti and Madi rivers, is believed to be the birthplace of the sage Veda Vyas and the meditation site of Rishi Parashar. After the restoration of multiparty democracy in Nepal, the municipality was officially established on Chaitra 30, 2048 B.S. According to the decision of the Government of Nepal dated Mangsir 16, 2071 B.S., the former Pokharibhajyang VDC was merged into this municipality. Later, after the promulgation of the new constitution and state restructuring, the Government of Nepal published a notice in the Gazette on Falgun 27, 2073 B.S., reorganizing the municipality under the federal structure.
